The horseshoe is one of the most prominent symbols of luck in the world. Its popularity as lucky emblems dates back centuries, when horseshoes were supposedly used to fend off evil spirits.
This antique 14k gold locket (circa 1870-1890) features a horseshoe accented with chunky rose cut diamonds and blue enamel.
The piece measures 2.35 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 1.3 inches wide (when closed). It is in very good condition with light surface wear.
