The horseshoe is one of the most prominent symbols of luck in the world. It's popularity as lucky emblems dates back centuries, when horseshoes were supposedly used to fend off evil spirits.
This antique locket pendant (circa 1880-1900) is adorned with a coral studded horseshoe framed with a bold blue enamel border. The locket is 14k gold (unmarked, but acid tested) and opens on the reverse so that you can add a photo or keepsake.
The piece is in very good condition with minor surface wear and restoration to the blue enamel. It measures 1.5 inches from top to bottom by 0.9 inches wide.
