Antique Man in Moon Moonstone Locket of 9k and 10k Gold

An antique locket dating to 1900-1910, this distinctive jewel features a carved moonstone face set against a radiating sunburst. The orthoclase moonstone carving was originally part of a 10K gold stickpin head that we mounted atop a 9K gold locket. The combination of the celestial carving, luminous moonstone, and warm gold creates a particularly charming example of antique jewelry, while the celestial motif lends the piece a playful and romantic character.

The locket measures approximately 1.8 inches from the top of the bail to the bottom by 1 inch wide and weighs 6.69 grams. It is in great antique condition.

Gemstone identification has been confirmed using Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive analytical technique that provides a precise chemical fingerprint to verify the moonstone.
Metal authenticity has been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming 9K gold construction for the locket and 10K gold construction for the original stickpin head.

A wonderfully imaginative antique jewel, this locket brings together a beautifully carved celestial motif with the history of a transformed antique stickpin.
