Antique Watchcock Conversion Pendant of Gold

This intriguing basilisk or dragon pendant was converted from a Georgian era watchcock (circa 1780-1800) by adding a gold bail and a tsavorite garnet accent. The pendant is hand pierced gold gilt (or pinchbeck), while the bail is 14k gold.

The pendant measures 1.25 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 0.85 inches wide, and it is in great condition.
