It is believed that any person who wears banded agate has the ability to overcome self-doubt and achieve a confident state of mind. The symbol of a star underlines this meaning, representing guidance and direction in all your endeavors.
This 14k gold Victorian mourning ring (circa 1860-1880) features a banded agate center surrounded by enamel and diamonds. The interior of the band has very worn engraving (likely the date of someone's passing) and the underside of the ring has a glass compartment containing a lock of hair.
The ring face of the ring measures 0.8 inches from top to bottom by 0.6 inches wide, and it is in good condition with some chipping to the enamel (visible under magnification).
The ring is a size 5, but can be re-sized free of charge.
