Art Nouveau jewelry and architecture often depicted mythological or gargoyle-like creatures including griffins, dragons, and mermaids.
This unusual ring features a fearsome gargoyle with garnet eyes and a pearl in its mouth. The gargoyle was originally part of an antique stick pin (circa 1900-1910) that we transformed with the addition of a 14k gold band with bifurcated shoulders.
The face of the ring measures 0.65 inches from top to bottom by 0.55 inches wide. It is in very good condition; however, under magnification you can see that one of the garnet eyes is a later replacement -- one is a cabochon and the other a rose cut.
The ring is a size 6.5, but it can be re-sized free of charge.
Materials: Pearl, Gold.
