Georgian Diamond Tiara Ring of 18k Gold

An elegant Georgian-era ring dating to circa 1760, designed as a delicate diamond tiara in the exuberant Rococo style. Four rose-cut diamonds form a graceful crown-shaped arrangement, with a larger central stone flanked by two smaller roses and a fourth diamond at the upper tip. The diamonds are set in closed-back silver collets atop an 18-karat gold body.

The beautifully pierced gallery features asymmetric C- and S-scrolls with delicate foliate sprays, flowing into a slender, faceted gold shank. The intricate scrolling and crown-like silhouette exemplify the romantic artistry of mid-18th-century jewelry. The rose-cut diamonds possess the soft, candlelit sparkle characteristic of the period, enhanced by their traditional foil-backed settings.

Gemstone identification has been confirmed by Raman spectroscopy, while X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing confirm the 18-karat gold. The closely matched gold-alloy readings, fine silver collets, and surviving foil remnants are consistent with Georgian construction. The ring’s Rococo ornament and traditional setting techniques suggest a Continental European origin.

The ring is in great antique condition, with secure diamonds and well-preserved goldwork. The original foil backing shows some age-related deterioration, consistent with antique foiled settings.

The ring measures approximately 0.4 inches (10.2 mm) north to south and weighs 2.55 grams. It is currently a size 7.5 and may be professionally resized for an additional charge. The four rose-cut diamonds have an estimated combined weight of 0.45–0.65 carats.

A romantic and distinctive example of Georgian craftsmanship, this charming tiara ring captures the elegance of the 18th century and would make a beautiful addition to an antique jewelry collection.
