During Victorian times, orchids were extremely rare and symbolized luxury and fine taste. When Victorians gifted orchids, it was thought that the more rare the orchid, the deeper the love for the recipient.
This antique brooch (circa 1900-1910) features a finely rendered enamel orchid with a diamond accent at its center.
The brooch measures 0.6 inches from top to bottom by 1 inch wide. It is in very good condition; however, there is a lead solder repair to the catch (visible on the reverse of the piece).
Materials: Gold, Diamond.
