Rare Medieval Horse Harness Pendant in 18k Gold

This piece is a finely wrought copper horse harness pendant depicting a crowned lion rampant. We believe this imagery to be the heraldry of Richard, earl of Cornwall (later king of Germany) 1209-1272AD.

This medieval piece is hand etched copper with a dark patina and gold gilt. The exceptionally rendered horse harness was custom mounted in a substantial 18k gold bezel and weighs 30.85 grams.

The pendant measures 2.9 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 1.6 inches wide, and it is in great condition.
