- Beauty is who you are. Jewelry is simply icing on the cake. - M.Burgess
The use of a "ball and claw" motif originated from ancient Chinese mythology. In ancient times, a dragon's claw clutching a jewel or stone was said to protect the treasure from evil forces attempting to steal it. Centuries later, this motif symbolizes safekeeping of the object it holds.
This charm features a faceted smokey quartz set into a 10k gold talon. The pendant was originally an antique stick pin that our jeweler transformed with the addition of a 14k gold bail.
The pendant measures 0.8 inches from top to bottom (including the jump ring bail) by 0.3 inches wide. The pendant is unmarked, but acid tested for 10k gold.
Materials: Quartz, Gold.
