Victorian Garnet and Pearl Ring of 15k Gold

A beautiful Victorian ring hallmarked in Chester England in 1888. The ring is centered with a richly colored rectangular step cut garnet framed by a halo of split pearls, and accented by finely engraved floral shoulders of 15k gold. The interior of the band bears the maker’s mark for Walter George Matthews, adding desirable historical provenance and further underscoring the craftsmanship of the piece.

The face of the ring measures 0.35 inches by 0.45 inches wide and weighs 3.16 grams, offering a delicate yet distinctive presence on the hand. It is presented in great antique condition, with stones secure and engraving details well preserved.

Currently a size 6.75, the ring may be professionally resized for an additional charge.

Gemstone identification has been confirmed using Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive analytical technique that provides a precise chemical fingerprint to verify authenticity.

Metal authenticity has been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming gold construction.
