Butterfly wing jewelry, made popular by Thomas Mott's exhibit at the British Exhibition of 1924, was very fashionable throughout the 1920s-1930s.
This dramatic butterfly wing pendant features a sulfide fairy atop a vibrant blue morpho butterfly wing backdrop. The pendant is marked "Genuine Butterfly Wings Sterling Silver" on the reverse.
The pendant was originally a brooch (circa 1925-1935) transformed by removing the pin findings and welding on a sterling silver bail.
We are selling the pendant with an optional 18 inch sterling silver paperclip link chain.
