Flowers had powerful meanings during the 19th and early 20th centuries, and purple violets, were given to represent that the giver’s thoughts were consumed with love for the recipient.
These attractive violet earrings were created from an antique brooch (circa 1910). The purple enamel violets are 14k gold (unmarked, but acid tested) with glistening diamond accents at their center and matching diamond surmounts.
Each earring measures 1.2 inches from top to bottom by 0.6 inches wide. They are in good condition; however, there was a minor cold enamel repair to the top right petal of one of the flowers (visible under magnification).
Materials: Diamond, Gold.
